Hotel and catering purchasing is driven by standardisation: one specification applied across every outlet, one item code per property, and a replacement route that does not depend on a local purchase. FORMSTEC supplies silicone trivets, mats and utensils to hotel groups, catering companies and contract caterers on that basis, with group branding applied at the factory.
Buffet heat protection and service hygiene
A buffet line generates constant heat transfer between chafing dishes, induction plates, serving trays and the counter itself. Silicone mats and trivets rated to 230 °C sit between these surfaces without marking or warping, and unlike fabric cloths they do not absorb spills and become a hygiene risk.
Solid-colour silicone has a further advantage over coated alternatives in a food-service environment: there is no surface layer to chip away, so the item does not develop patches of exposed substrate that fail an inspection.
Contract catering and tender supply
Contract catering and public-sector tenders specify the product, the certification and the delivery window months before the order is placed. We can supply material documentation to FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 and LFGB for the tender file, and hold a production slot against a delivery window so the goods land when the contract requires them rather than when the factory happens to be free.
Where a tender specifies a size or format we do not already hold, new mould development runs in parallel with the tender process so tooling is ready when the award is made.
Branding for hotel groups
Hotel groups typically want the item to carry the property or group identity without looking like promotional merchandise. Logo debossing into the silicone gives a permanent, non-printed mark that does not fade or wear through, while printed branding can be applied to the retail or storage packaging instead.
We can produce a small set of properties under one specification with different marks per property, which keeps the group’s purchasing consolidated while preserving each property’s identity.
