An importer’s economics come down to three numbers: landed cost per unit, cash tied up in inventory, and how often the supplier forces a specification change. FORMSTEC runs OEM and ODM silicone kitchenware programmes for importers, distributors and retail brands, structured so all three stay predictable: carton density is quoted before the order, trial volumes are accepted, and approved specifications do not drift between runs.
What a private-label programme includes
A private-label programme covers more than applying a logo. The full scope is material grade, dimensions and wall thickness, Shore hardness, Pantone colour matching, logo debossing or printing, retail packaging artwork and format, barcode and retail labelling, and the master carton configuration. All of it is agreed and written into the pre-production sample approval before volume production starts.
If you already have a product, we work from your sample or drawing. If you have a specification but no product, we develop from a reference photo plus your target cost and use case, and give you a manufacturability review before committing to tooling — including a straight answer on where the target cost is not achievable.
Container economics and mixed loads
Carton configuration decides freight efficiency more than unit price does. A 520 × 380 × 420 mm carton at 60 pcs, for example, gives a container loading calculated before you commit, so the landed cost you quote to your own customers is based on a real number rather than an assumption.
For a first order in a new market, mixed-container trial loads combining several items let you validate sell-through without holding a full container of one SKU. Once a line proves, we move it to full-container repeats with a fixed specification.
Documentation for import and customs
Importers need documentation that matches the shipment exactly. We supply commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin and, where required, material documentation for food-contact compliance. HS code is confirmed against the actual product and your destination’s classification rather than assumed.
If your market requires third-party inspection, that is arranged before shipment, and we photograph loading so you have a record of what left the factory in what condition.
